HSBCnet Mobile now supports a full suite of Biometric capabilities, including Touch & Face ID for iOS devices, as well as Fingerprint ID for supported Android devices. These provide a fast, simple and secure way to view your HSBC accounts and balances on the go.

Once enabled, simply use your fingerprint or facial recognition to log on – making it even quicker to access your HSBCnet services anytime, anywhere.

HSBCnet Mobile Authentication

Access your HSBC accounts safely and securely without a security token

Do your banking simply and securely using your mobile device through the HSBCnet app, whenever and wherever you want to without the need for a separate security device.

Mobile Authentication is a feature of HSBCnet Mobile, our award-winning mobile banking application (click here to find out more.) It allows authorised users to log in to HSBCnet via a trusted mobile device, which acts as a substitute “soft token” in place of the regular HSBCnet security token.

HSBCnet Mobile is available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Enabling Mobile Authentication

Mobile Authentication with the HSBCnet app – for new customers:

You may already be set up with Mobile Authentication by default.

To find out if you have access, download the HSBCnet Mobile app and attempt to activate Mobile authentication. If the Mobile authentication option is not showing up in your HSBCnet Mobile app settings:

Existing Users: Your System Administrator needs to enable ‘Mobile devices’ on your user profile in User management.

New Users: Select “Mobile Device” only for the authentication type when setting up the new user

Once enabled, you can activate this feature in the HSBCnet Mobile app.

Enable Biometrics for your HSBCnet Mobile app

Follow these simple steps:

  • Device Settings: In your iOS or Android device, make sure you have registered your Biometrics within your device settings.
  • Log on: Open your HSBCnet Mobile app, and enter your username. Then enter your own security credentials.
  • Enable: Once logged in to HSBCnet Mobile, you can enable Biometrics in the app settings and follow the instructions. You will need to accept the terms and conditions to enable the service.
  • Verify: Use your device Biometric to complete the setup.
